Hello Resident,

✅ Good News from Your Local Policing Team ✅

Officer's have been visiting your local parks at Burbury Park and Yellow Park this week we have: 

- Engaged with young people and parents.

- Seized a vehicle suspected to be used in drug crime and anti-social behaviour just outside of Burbury Park.

- Attended a community event at Burbury Park, which took place 01/08/26 to provide a policing presence.

The team were also involved in trading standards joint visits to local stores to ensure they are following relevant guidelines. This resulted in the seizure of illegal vapes, cigarettes and unsafe items being sold.

The team have had 4 arrests this week, two arrests for suspects in a car cannibalism incident in Aston, and another for possession with intent to supply drugs. The team have also been involved in patrols resulting in numerous stop and searches to tackle crime in the area. 

We have also visited the Aston Villa Kicks this week. This is a fantastic engagement for children in Aston/Newtown to get involved in during the summer holidays. 

The team on the daily have been completing targeted guardian patrols in the area to reduce knife crime and show visible presence in the areas with the highest reported crime.

Based on increased vehicle crime, please ensure your vehicles are locked, windows are shut. Keep valuables out of view and consider use of steering locks/parking near CCTV. Keep vehicles parked on secure car parks. Keep dash cams out of view and do not leave electronics such as laptops or mobile phones in the vehicle.
